SYNOPSIS

In 1898, Australia’s Federal Constitution was drafted inside The Grand Hotel, later renamed to The Windsor Hotel. In 2026, artist and filmmaker Tammy Lee Rock invited Federal Senator Lidia Thorpe to spend a night in the hotel’s Royal Suite. Queens To The Front is a dialogue between two sovereign black queens, discussing the responsibility and fatigue of being a first nations representative, the journey that led to the Victorian Statewide Treaty and Lidia Thorpe’s powerful protest of King Charle’s visit to Parliament in 2024.
